BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING WITH SANDBAR STORYTELLING FESTIVAL

• Listen to the art of storytelling
• Promote our varied cultural traditions and human experiences

Positions to be filled:

Ushers (Tickets, Door, and House)

• (All) Greet patrons

• (All) Open and close theater doors between storytellers

• (All) Walk through/pick up theater at end of the event (if applicable)

• (Door) Direct patrons to performance space

• (Door) Address accessibility needs if necessary

• (Tickets) Scan/Take tickets

• (House) Help Patrons to seats (general seating)

• (House) Distribute Programs

• (House) Address accessibility needs if necessary

Hospitality (Picnic/Food Truck Area)

• Oversee Picnic Area (including heaters if necessary)

• Ensure garbage gets emptied (call SMU Maintenance or LZ)

• Tidy up space as needed

• Be a resource

Golf Cart Driver

• Must possess SMU license

• Be available to transport patrons with mobility issues to and from theater, parking lot, gazebo, or other necessary locations

Concessions/Merchandise 

• Assist concessions/merchandise staff as necessary

Transportation

• Drive storytellers to and from events (stopping for meals if necessary)

• Stay with storyteller during event
